Buy TicketsTickets are available now for Rivers of Recovery’s Arkansas Banquet on Saturday, April 7 at the Military Science Building on the ASU campus in Jonesboro. Doors open at 5:30 PM with dinner at 6:45 PM.

The money raised will fund our mid-April RoR trip on the White River. Any additional funds raised will enable us to reach more local veterans in 2018.

“This banquet is our biggest fundraiser of the year, and the money we raise will directly affect how many veterans can go,” said Levi Crawford, former RoR participant and current RoR marketing director. “If we exceed our goal, we’ll be able to reach more veterans by adding another trip in Arkansas this year.”

Rivers of Recovery specializes in the rehabilitation of combat veterans suffering from post-traumatic stress (PTS), minor traumatic brain injury (TBI), stress, anxiety and depression. Our program empowers veterans to live a life that is no longer restricted by psychological or physical disabilities.

Veteran Suicide Prevention

The need is greater than ever. The U.S. Department of Veteran Affairs reported the risk for suicide was 22 percent higher among veterans compared to U.S. non-veteran adults. The close military ties of Arkansas make organizations like Rivers of Recovery imperative to support local veterans.

One mother tells the heartbreaking story of her son, a military veteran, who committed suicide: “I wish a program like Rivers of Recovery had been around and could have reached him, because it may have prevented his death. It’s so important that we reach out to our veterans. You never know what’s going on inside. Rivers of Recovery can make a real difference to the people who have served our country.”

Support Arkansas Veterans

If you can’t attend this year’s banquet, please consider making a donation—either directly for the Arkansas trips or for banquet tickets to distribute to local combat veterans who couldn’t otherwise attend.

“Last year several of our generous local businesses donated banquet tickets to local veterans,” Levi said. “They’re helping vets out twice. First by buying tickets to support our Arkansas program, and second by helping veterans attend this event.”

No amount is too small. In fact, monthly pledges may only be $10-20/month. But when that amount is multiplied by other people, Levi explained, “that’s an extra vet per month that we’re helping that we couldn’t help before.”
