UPDATE:
The Heart of America campaign was successfully completed on June 24th at 3:00pm EDT in Venice, Louisiana.
During the 80 day trip, Rivers of Recovery founder Dan T. Cook stopped in Sioux City, Omaha, Kansas City, Saint Louis, Memphis and New Orleans to visit VA Medical facilities, speak with the media and spread the word about the challenges disabled veterans and their families face.
Despite blizzards, freezing rain, hail, dense fog, torrential downpours, dangerous thunder and lightning storms and intense heat and sun the trip was completed 10 days ahead of schedule.
Thank you again to all the kind, generous and patriotic Americans who came out to the river to support Dan and Rivers of Recovery.

To help raise public awareness of issues facing disabled veterans and their families, Rivers of Recovery founder Dan T. Cook will row a boat 3,700 miles from Three Forks, Montana to the Gulf of Mexico. Events are planned in each of the cities listed on the Events page. We encourage all businesses, military and civic organizations along the route to become involved. Show your support for our brave servicemen and servicewomen and help raise funding for an effective and therapeutic recreational program. Rivers of Recovery is open to veterans of all eras and specializes in treating veterans with physical disabilities, PTSD and traumatic brain injury.
